What is sleep coaching?
You might be wondering: what exactly is a sleep coach, what do they do and can they really help you get the sleep you’ve been longing for?

To put it simply, a sleep coach is a similar to a fitness or life coach but with a focus on sleep instead of sport.
If you want to improve your fitness, you’re going to turn to someone who is an expert and has proven experience in helping others improve their skills. You want someone who knows exactly what steps you should be taking to get there and can encourage, guide and motivate you to make sure you reach your goals.

It’s exactly the same when it comes to your sleep.

Sleep Coaching works like any other type of coaching programme. It begins with a 1:1 assessment of your strengths, weaknesses, and objectives.

These sessions are virtual and will be scheduled in advance through my booking portal.

I evaluate several areas of your life to understand the underlying cause of your slep issues. These include:

-
Your beliefs and thoughts: Most sleep problems stem from negative and dysfunctional beliefs about sleep that perpetuate the problem over time.

-
Circadian Rhythm alignment: Whether your current routine is misaligned to your natural body rythm and internal body clock.

-
Sleep schedule: Consistency of your sleep and wake-up times, like learning how to wake up earlier

-
Bedtime routine: How you wind down at night, late-night eating patterns, and phone usage

-
Environment: Noise, light exposure, and overall comfort of your pillows and mattress

-
Daytime habits: Caffeine and alcohol consumption, physical exercise routines, and regular naps

-
Duration: The total amount of sleep you get regularly

-
Quality: Whether you wake up refreshed and ready to go or tired and ready crawl back in bed

-
Emotional well-being: External factors, such as work-related stress, relationship problems, and chronic anxiety, that can impact your ability to get to sleep

-
Medical history: Underlying medical conditions, sleep disorders, or sleep medicine that negatively impacts your sleep

Based on this assessment, we work through a proven step-by-step plan tailored to your unique life situation.

During our sessions and the programme, I will use a combination of:

-
sleep science education
-
guided support
-
personally tailored advice

to break down the barriers that are coming between you and a good night’s sleep.
